We came as a family to the Happy Tails shelter a week after
losing our long time 4 legged family member to bone cancer. The
illness appeared sudden and was swift. We choose to give our 7
year old dog Colby to God's hands and end his suffering. It was
a black and white decision, but a very difficult one filled with
many tears. Our 3 year old son asked where Colby was and told
us we just needed to go find him. We knew we wanted a dog in our
family - one like Colby - the house was left so empty without
him. We weren't sure how soon we were going to find a dog that
would fit into our lifestyle and family. We were going to take
our time.
We searched many breeders websites and many rescue programs. We
looked at the dogs for adoption at Happy Tails and found Diesel
(Chico). We came the very next day to meet him and fell in love.
He fit so many of the characteristics that Colby had. A big dog
with a big heart. The shelter didn't know much about Diesel's
past because he was a stray. We got him home and immediately I
felt grateful for having him in our lives. I couldn't imagine
losing a dog like this. He is a fantastic pup. Fantastic with
children, completely house broken, great with our cats and great
with anyone who comes to our house. He is a pure blessing in our
lives and is by my son's side every minute. They play like sibling's
for hours every night. He is a great running partner, by my side
for my long distance runs. Thank you to the staff of Happy Tails
for helping make our selection that fateful day. I couldn't ask
for a better blessing and am thankful to have given this lost
pup a forever home!
I have included pictures of my son taking him for a run in the
field and the two of them playing in the sand box in the back
yard... Hard to tell which one is happier to have the other =)

Sincerely,
The Posman Family
