The toy Patrick has been sleeping with whenever possible is a
squeaky headed ostrich. So far he is nice and shares the couch,
eventually there may not be room. He also sleeps with me in the
chair, it has a long pad so I can stretch out while he lounges
next to or on me depending. I have other pics with his head on
my chest while he's sleeping. The boxing lesson is with Natalya,
our 1.5 year old cat. He'll chase her around the house until
she hides under the table. Then he'll stand there barking until
he gets bored. Once he walks away she'll dart out and swat his
tail starting the chase all over again. We keep her nails trimmed
so all she does is slap him and I guess they have a good time.
He's doing well with house breaking, and walks on his leash very
well. We're keeping him with the harness and he'll walk beside
me without tugging the leash. Our neighbors all love him and
my wife's grandmother wanted to keep him for herself. We've taken
him to my in-laws to meet their two German Shepherds, walked him
through Pet Depot where he picked his ostrich and met an Italian
Greyhound puppy (she was tiny) and have had company many times
where he meets new people. He only barks when he's playing with
the cat and did wonderfully with our nephews.
My wife who was surprised absolutely loves him so I did a good
thing by bringing him home. She's trimmed his nails without any
issues and we're trying to get him used to the tub. We've bathed
him three times and he gets nervous but tolerates it. We still
plan on taking him camping, but not sure if we'll get a chance
to go again this year or if he'll have to wait for next summer.
