The National Guard armory in
Geneva. For many years, this was the
home of "Company B" as the hometown unit was known. A company of the 3rd New York
Infantry, the National Guard company (then designated 134th Separate
Co.) served state-side during the Spanish-American War. Several of its members, not satisfied with
service at Camp Alger, VA, volunteered for Philippine service in the years
after 1898. At least two died
there. The unit later served in World
Wars I and II and has seen several deployments since.
